fake fish.

Yes, that title is chock full of grammar problems. But, I just can’t find another great way of saying that this fake fish isn’t just a fake fish, but way more awesome.

The other day I posted Blackberry Cream Cupcakes and didn’t put into the title that there was Smirnoff in the cupcakes. I was scolded…a reader said that if I had put Smirnoff in the title they would have been over sooner. She didn’t really scold me bad. I just like getting her in trouble. But, the point being…I’m trying to tell you everything you need to know in a title. In just a few words. How on earth is that possible sometimes? If you’ve been around here for any length of time you know that I’m not always normal. It can be awfully hard to explain a post I write. So, I’m going to start getting creative and try some new things. Like inventing words. Fake-a-fish.

sushi the fake-a-fish. by NellieBellie

This is Sushi. She is by  no means a crafting masterpiece. But, she was created for my sister…who loves her. What’s not to love? A fabric fish. With glitter food. And, she came with a book about her origins, family, and care. It was AWESOME! She won’t win me any awards, prizes, or features. But…she is one of my favorite crafts to date. I had an absolute blast making her. And giggling when I thought of my sister carrying her home on the bus to college. Poor girl has to have a sister like me. She’ll live.

I wanted to post her as a reminder to you…and me. Do what  you love, love what you do, be yourself, and show that off with no regrets. Who you are on the inside is of far greater importance then what is on the outside.

Where am I going with this? Well, here…

google plus

Yes, I’m shamelessly plugging a community I started on Google +. Shameless. Here’s why…

If you like to make, create, cook, craft, color, paint, draw, sketch, doodle, blow glass…whatever…you more then likely love the process. You like the result, sure. But…I bet there are many of you that love to DO but don’t know how. Or don’t have the creativity and skills you see on Pinterest, magazines, websites, blogs, and well…everywhere. Join the club. Literally. This group is the place to learn skills, laugh at what you don’t know, just listen and read, share tips and tricks, whatever allows you to enjoy creating MORE then the craft itself. No self-promotion, no pressure, no perfection. Just be.

So…come on by and give it a try. It won’t be perfect, at all. Cause I started it and you know darn well that means it could really stink badly on occasion. That’s okay…life is like that.

If you aren’t on Google+, that’s okay. I’ll keep on popping up here and there for a pep talk. I’m unpredictable like that.

So pop over to the community…Creativity is Optional. You might love it.  Might not. But, oh well.
P.S. You will need to ask to be invited. Then wait to be accepted (it’s like being in middle school all over again. nail biting. keeping the riff raff out :))

Have another project similar to my fake fish you think is amazing?  Share it with me!
