Welcome to my kitchen!
Pull up a chair, grab a slice of cake, and let's chat.
Alongside running NellieBellie, I also work full-time in marketing—so everything you see here is truly real life: practical, doable, and sometimes a little bit messy. Whether I’m juggling work, family, or dinner, my passion is helping you feel more confident in your own kitchen, no matter how busy life gets.
My food philosophy is simple:
Real food, real life, real joy.
I grew up in a big family where every meal had to feed a crowd—and every dollar had to stretch. Those early days taught me to love creative, budget-friendly cooking that brings people together without breaking the bank. Since then, I’ve spent years expanding my own culinary skills and food knowledge, learning from both professional chefs and lots of trial and error at home.
I believe great meals don’t need to be fancy, expensive, or complicated. Good food comes from using what you have, trusting your senses, and not stressing over perfection. If it brings people together, tastes good, and makes you feel proud—that’s a win.
My kitchen motto: If you can’t laugh at a kitchen fail, you’re not cooking enough.
A little about me:
I live in Minnesota with my husband, and I’m a mom to two amazing adult kids. When I’m not cooking or working, you’ll find me reading, thrifting for quirky finds, volunteering in my community, or trying to keep my plants alive. I believe that food is about connection—whether it’s a family dinner, a celebration, or a Tuesday night “what’s-in-the-fridge” moment. I firmly believe every salad needs cheese, and every dinner tastes better when someone else does the dishes.

A Little More About Me (and My Quirks)
My husband, two grown kids, and two spoiled rescue dogs are my world. I love wine, food, and entertaining—pretty much in that order.
Most days, you’ll find me working with coffee in hand, probably wearing yoga pants, and watching Say Yes to the Dress for the hundredth time. (True story: I warn everyone not to set drinks on the white rug, then do it myself.)
As the oldest of ten children, I’m bossy by nature, a bit of a rule-maker, and have mastered the art of finding the comfiest seat at any family gathering.
