It’s true, you know. Bring someone a cupcake in this cute mason jar holder and you’ll gain a friend, or two. Everyone loves a cupcake. And everyone loves pretty packaging.

This is a darling way to gift a cupcake. Use a mason jar for this fun gift idea with a simple ribbon and tag wrapped around the neck.

BTW, these little mason jars are a cute and fun storage space for small kitchens. I love to fill them with bulk spices and stack them on my counter…cute and practical!
Little mason jars make GREAT little carriers for single cupcakes. I mean, how cute are these!! They are like the cheap plastic cupcake holder but make it classy and creative. Soooooo cute! And can we just talk about how great these are for birthday favors.
Important…you have to get the wide mouth mason jars (amazon has these specific ones) if you want to have enough room for full-size cupcakes in them.
When my kids were in elementary school, we would gift cupcakes from our favorite baker to their teachers. It was such an inexpensive little gift but they LOVED them. And I appreciate not having to spend a ton of money or time to gift something special.

I mean, how cute and adorable would these be to gift to your neighbors, teachers, and babysitters. So easy to make and yet absolutely special. The very best kind of gifts for busy moms :).
Want to transport a whole lot of these cute cupcake holders? If you bought a whole box of mason jars, use the box for transport. Need to transport only a few? Try tucking bubble wrap or a dish towel around them in a tote bag.
Homemade Cupcake Recipes to try:
There is absolutely no reason you can’t fill the mason jars with purchased cupcakes. But, if you would like to bake homemade cupcakes, these are some of my favorite cupcake recipes that I would love you to try!
This is the best cupcake carrier but works great for gifting other small treats. Some other treats perfect for a birthday party or other fun celebration (how cute for a wedding favor!):
- Muffins
- Brownies (with a dollup of frosting and sprinkles for decorations!)
- Cookies (stack them up or heck, use it like an ordinary mason jar you pack with mini cookies!)
- Mini cake. You know…those little tiny ones :))
- Donut. I’m just saying…if we are staying in the sweet carb theme, we can’t forget how awesome it would be to be – my fellow donut lovers are nodding their head ;).

cupcake holder …. really a great idea!
Well, you could freeze them for several weeks prior, if needed. Usually a couple of days is all you want to make ahead. And be sure to keep them in the fridge if they have a frosting with butter or milk in it.
How far ahead can you make cupcakes to give in mason jars?
You have the most creative ideas! Thanks so much!
