Ingredients Needed:

  • Passion fruit pulp. You can use fresh passion fruit pulp or the frozen one, you can find it at most supermarkets on the frozen aisle (Goya has one!).
  • Tequila. I like using a gold Tequila for this or even a Mezcal for a fun twist.
  • Cointreau, Triple Sec, or any favorite orange liqueur.
  • Fresh lime juice or sub lemon juice if you don’t have the lime.
  • Honey. Feel free to swap the honey for agave syrup or simple syrup as an alternative sweetener.

Don’t forget the ice. I tend to always underestimate the amount of ice I need for cocktails. Be sure to stock up! Luckily we live right down the road from the gas station and my husband can make a quick run when we are needing ice.

Instructions:

  • In a pitcher stir together the passion fruit pulp, tequila, cointreau, lime juice and honey until everything is well incorporated. You’ll want to whisk it up pretty well in order for the honey to become incorporated fully.
  • Fill the pitcher with ice and garnish with lime slices. If you don’t plan to serve right away leave the ice out until you are ready or the melting ice will dilute your cocktail.
  • Once you are ready to serve, rub a lime wedge over the edge of the glass and dip into rimming salt, if you want. Try making your own with sea salt, chili powder, and a bit of sugar. It’s a bit spicy and salty…so good!
  • Pour the passion fruit margaritas and garnish with lime slices, jalapeños or fresh herbs.

Make in advance:

You can make this drink in advance, just add all the ingredients except for the ice, cover with plastic wrap, and chill. Once you are ready to serve just add the ice and garnish.

I mean can we just talk about how yummy these margaritas are! And those ingredients are soooo fresh and good. You need to make up a pitcher of these for your friends…they will be so impressed!
