Usually when we share a recipe with you, we like to explain why we think it is worth your time. But we’re pretty sure that the above photo took care of that for us! Before you’re scared off by the possibility that these Rice Krispie Treats Cars are hard to make; they aren’t!!! You’ll have a batch done in no time. They’ll SAVE you time! These cars are a perfect treat to make for a “special” snack after school sometime or as a party treat (Cars Party!). They certainly aren’t healthy, but they are fun. And there is a place for that sometimes, isn’t there.
Rice Krispie Treats Cars Supplies:
- Rice Krispie Treats
- Sandwich Cookies
- Frosting
- Teddy bear snacks
- lollipops (1 per car)
Start off by making your basic Rice Krispie Treats. If you haven’t made them before, you just need a box of Rice Krispies, a bag of marshmallows, and a few tablespoons of butter. The recipe for the treats is usually on the back of the marshmallow bag, and these can be made in the microwave! If you prefer to save time you can often find them already made in your grocery store.
Cut your Rice Krispie Treats into rectangles. These rectangles will become the car, so you want them to be fairly large. About 2″ x 4″ is good.
Now that you’ve cut out your basic car, it’s time to add the wheels! Take one sandwich cookie, add a large dollop of frosting to the center, and attach it to the side of your car. Repeat this with a second sandwich cookie. Leave these to set for a little bit before switching sides and attaching the other two wheels.
Now that you have all four wheels attached, it’s time to add your people, steering wheel, and lights. We used frosting to attach teddy bear snacks to our mini van. We cut off some of the lollipop and then pushed the remaining portion of the stick straight into our Rice Krispies.
Last, we took our frosting and made a fun design to look like lights on the front. This could also look really neat if you had Skittles or M & Ms attached to the front!
If you like this fun party idea, you might also like our Rice Krispie Donuts, our ice cream tacos, or our candy corn fruit cup. These would make great treats for a kid’s party or special occasion! If you want to save the Rice Krispie Treats car idea for later be sure and pin it to your board! (seriously…don’t you love Pinterest for saving ideas. I could get lost in all my boards!)
