This Raspberry Coconut Smoothie bowl is part of our summer-long partnership with Driscoll's Berries
to share our family memories created around our family recipes. Find our full disclosure here.
Hey mama, are you rushing around like a crazy lady every morning trying to make sure your kids have their papers signed, clothes on right side in, hair combed, teeth brushed, AND they have eaten a decent breakfast. Heaven forbid you are THAT mom. You know, the one that sends a granola bar and banana on the bus with them. Hands up, I've totally done it. Will do it again. #Sorrynotsorry
If your mornings look anything like mine (and I only have 1 teen boy and college daughter heading out in the mornings. How my mother did it with 10 kids at home is beyond me. Crazy!) and you are trying to avoid the bus breakfast, then you know the value of a fast, easy, and delicious breakfast. A breakfast that will get the whole house to pause for five minutes, take a breath, and eat. Just eat for gosh's sake!
Smoothie bowls should be your thing.
If you are really really smart (that's not me, but some of you are planners and would be far better at this than I), put your delicious Driscoll's raspberries and all your smoothie making stuff into the blender the night before and pop the blender into the fridge. The next morning, add the frozen banana (or ice),whirl it up, and pour it into bowls. Top with treats and more berries. Don't forget topping it with treats because that is the best part! How fast and easy can you get?
Why pour it into bowls and not just serve it up in a glass, you ask? Because, my friend, that is the part that makes everything go slow-mo in your home for a few minutes. It's in a bowl. It requires a spoon. Think about the math. 2 hands! Or, a table and a hand. Either way...it takes a pause. And you and I both know that a pause is a very. good. thing. for kids to start their days. AND...you get to add the toppings! The toppings turn it into a little parfait business. Watch your kids and tell me if they are 1. topping eaters immediately 2. save the toppings for last 3. mix the toppings in for equal disbursement.
Raspberry Coconut Smoothie bowl pause! Driscoll berry pause! Good job mama...you deserve an extra cup of coffee. Or a Strawberry Shortcake Cocktail :). (wink)
Our favorite smoothie recipe uses frozen banana rather than ice, yogurt, Driscoll's raspberries, and coconut. Soooo delicious, sooooo berry-flavored, and soooo healthy. I usually top it with more berries, coconut, and chocolate shavings. What a great way to start the day. If I don't say so myself :).
If you don't yet know, I have been in partnership with Driscoll's Berries this summer creating family memories alongside our favorite family berry recipes. Yep, I believe memories and recipes are kind of the same thing, often. And I'm crazy about this fabulous company that believes the same. Buy Driscoll's, will ya. They really are the best.
