It’s annoying that I have to say Twinkie substitute. How lame is that in a title? I can’t just say Twinkie’s. No, they don’t exist anymore. Darn Hostess going bankrupt. Ruined my title for Twinkie Tiramisu.
Okay, I’m done ranting. For now. It will probably come up again. At the most random time. That’s the way I roll! Short sentences, randomness, and sarcasm. I’m working on it…they are hard habits to break! Oh, that’s another one!! I like to use the three dot things. What’s their formal name?? Ellipsis. That’s it. I have a bad habit of using Ellipsis’ in improper ways. Oh well. Let’s move on…
This girl is a Tiramisu lover. Love isn’t a strong enough word. I think this stuff is the best thing ever. After a pot of chocolate. Cause, it’s a pot of chocolate.
But, I dislike all the work involved for a good Tiramisu. And, please understand…this recipe won’t substitute the real thing. The one that takes forever! But, it’s darn close and far easier!
So, if you love Tiramisu try this! If you’ve been scared off from Tiramisu…try this! You’ll be a convert!
This is the secret…

NellieBellie’s Lazy Tiramisu
♥♥xoxo ingredients:
box of Twinkie substitutes, 8 oz cream cheese, tub of marscapone cheese (i think that’s 6oz??), 1/2 cup of powdered sugar, 12 oz cool-whip, 1 cup of strong coffee, 1/4 cup Kahlua (or strong coffee if you aren’t into Kahlua), 2 tablespoons ground coffee
xoxo instructions:
1) cut the twinkies lengthwise. lay them cream side up on the bottom of an 8 by 8 pan (or trifle dish)
2) pour 1/2 cup of the strong coffee slowly over the twinkies.
3) now beat the cream cheese, marscapone cheese, powdered sugar, 4 oz cool-whip, Kahlua, and ground coffee together until creamy.
4) spread 1/2 of the cheese mixture over the soaked twinkies.
5) sprinkle cocoa on top (you don’t have to do this part. but you should, it’s cool)
6) spread cool-whip on top
7) repeat twinkie, cheese, cocoa, and cool-whip layers.
now here’s the important part…let the whole mess sit in the fridge for hours and hours and days (if you can manage).
