We do April Fool’s in this house.
We do it long before April 1st and long after.
It eventually gets old.
And annoying.
You can only get sprayed by the faucet so many times before you just want to scream.
But…I have my own little fake-out’s that I use on the kids.
They almost always involve food.
Cause, the little cuties *ahem* still don’t cook for themselves…slackers.
I have a couple of fun ones for you to try out on your kids in the next few days.
Up first one that I did not think of. Nope, I heard of it years ago.
I don’t remember from where. But, it’s not my idea
But, I surely do use it!…
Fake-Out Grilled Cheese and Tomatoe Soup.
(yes, I know it’s spelled wrong…it goes with the blog theme
)

Ingredients:
Pound cake
White frosting
Yellow food coloring
Strawberry topping
cinnamon
Cut the pound cake in half.

Cut the cake the long way.
Cutting it this way looks the most similar to real bread.

Mix some of the frosting with the yellow food coloring until you get a nice “cheesy” color
. Cheesy…ha!

Smother your “cheese” between your slices…

Rub some cinnamon into the tops of the bread to give it that “toasted” look. Cut the sandwich in half and serve with “tomato soup”. Ha!
P.S. for the tomato soup mix a bit of frosting with strawberry syrup until it has the right color and texture. It won’t be perfect…just close.

Til Next Time!

This is amazing! I love grilled cheese and would have a rude (well I love sweets too so maybe just shocking) surprise to find out it was not actually grilled cheese! Such a creative idea.
What a fun idea! I love humor in food.
This is awesome!! I am totally going to do this for my kiddos…
