This cake cannot get any easier, faster, or tastier. Making a cake mix with soda is a trick that everyone should know and have in their back pocket for when needed. It is simply a brilliant trick for baking up a cake super fast.
This is my family’s favorite version... the orangesicle cake. It features the Sunkist® TEN™ Soda (I love this one because the calorie count is so low) which creates a yummy orangesicle flavor.
This cake recipe really is as simple as mixing a white cake mix with 12 oz of Sunkist® TEN™ Soda, stirring, and putting into a greased pan to bake.
Seriously folks, YOU can do this. Really.

I want you to know that multiple versions of soda work with this recipe. My personal favorites are Sunkist® TEN™ Soda and 7up TEN®. I find these two flavors create the lightest and fluffiest cake version. However, using the Sunkist® TEN™ in the icing AND the cake is just orange supreme. In the best and yummiest way.
We are talking supah fast and supah yum!
Cake Recipe:
- 1 box white cake mix
- 12 oz Sunkist® TEN™ Soda
Mix the cake mix and Sunkist® TEN™ Soda together well, pour into greased cake pan, follow the directions for baking on the back of the cake mix. Cool and ice.
Icing:
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons Sunkist® TEN™ Soda
Stir the powdered sugar and Sunkist® TEN™ Soda together until completely mixed. Drizzle the icing onto the warm cake.

Wow, this cake sounds delicious...and it's so easy to make! I definitely could see this one making an appearance in my kitchen during the holidays! #client
