Let’s talk homemade donuts for a second. Have you ever made them? I wanted to. They look so charming sitting all in a row in the beautiful photos on Pinterest with their glazed tops and crispy bottoms, but then I would look at the recipes and instructions and get a bit cross-eyed. Until now. These baked pumpkin donuts are 3 ingredients.
Yes, I sometimes make money from companies for talking about them. I only talk about things I think are great anyway. Find our full disclosure here.
These babies will not make you go cross-eyed. They will make you stand up and rejoice for the ease that it is to create them. Seriously, happy dance kind of stuff.
That, my friends, is your ingredient list for your baked pumpkin donuts.
White cake mix, can of pumpkin, and Tastefully Simple VANILLA BEAN CHAI DRINK mix; these really are that easy. Using Tastefully Simple Vanilla Bean Chai Drink mix allows all that great chai and spice flavor with a bit of sugar and milk to blend with the cake mix and pumpkin. It just works fantastic for the flavor of these donuts, so why over-think it?
Simply mix it all together and spoon (or pipe) into your pan. Truthfully, this was the trickiest part for me. I didn’t comprehend until about half-way through how much easier it would be if I used two spoons to drop the batter in instead of my giant spatula. Doh! And now I am thinking it would be EVEN smarter to put the batter into a ziplock and pipe it. Double Doh!
When those babies come out of the oven and are flipped over to cool, you will rejoice the rejoicing of a donut maker. And, let me tell you…it is a NOISY rejoicing. They are gorgeous! And you are a success. All that lovely pumpkin and chai flavors will make your day.
We are giant fans of eating these baked pumpkin donuts with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and some of Tastefully Simple’s new flavored ice cream salts. My particular favorite salt from the Tastefully Simple’s ICE CREAM SALT TRIO with these donuts is the Brown Sugar & Honey salt. It’s delicious!
Side note:
I made these a bit before Levi and Katie came home from school and by the end of the day all 12 were gone. I wasn’t even aware enough to realize they were gobbling those up until it was too late to scold. And then, when I did realize and ask about it they were astonished at how many they had eaten. They had simply loved them and grabbed one while walking by. So store these away from the crowd until you are ready for them to be consumed!
