Spicy Jalapeño Margaritas
Delicious combo of sweet and spicy with homemade jalapeño simple syrup and spicy salt. The recipe for a pitcher!

Jalapeño Syrup 30 minutes minutes

Jalapeño Syrup (makes 1 cup- enough for 16 margaritas)
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 jalapeño
Spicy Salt (makes 1/2 cup rimming salt)
- 1/2 cup salt
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
Jalapeño Margarita (makes 4 margaritas)
- 1 cup tequila
- 3/4 cup lime juice
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup jalapeño simple syrup

Jalapeño Simple Syrup
In a small saucepan over medium heat stir together the water and sugar.
Add the jalapeño and bring to a gentle simmer. Continue simmering, stirring occasionally for 30 minutes.
Let it cool down completely and pour into an airtight container.
Spicy Salt
Stir together all the ingredients until everything is well incorporated.
To rim the glass, rub a lime wedge over the border of the glass and dip into the spicy salt until the whole border is coated.
To Make Spicy Margaritas:
In a pitcher combine the tequila, lime juice, orange juice and jalapeño simple syrup.
Add the ice, lime wedges and jalapeño slices and stir. Set aside.
Rim the glasses with the spicy salt and fill with the margaritas. Serve immediately.
