the BEST Homemade Chocolate Granola

A delicious and easy homemade chocolate granola. Not too sweet, a wee bit of salt, and hidden bits of soft chocolate make this granola wonderful for breakfast!

  • 4 cups oats
  • 1 cup nuts
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ cup melted coconut oil
  • ½ cup maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • ½ cup cocoa
  • ½ cup chocolate chips
  • ½ cup coconut


  • Mix oats, nuts, sea salt, cocoa, and cinnamon.
  • Whisk syrup, oil, vanilla until well blended.
  • Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir well.
  • Bake at 300 on a parchment lined baking sheet for 30 minutes.
  • Stir and sprinkle the coconut on top. 
  • Return to the oven and bake an additional 15 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven, wait about 10 minutes, and then stir in the chocolate chips. You want them to be a bit melty but not melt completely.
  • Let cool for 1-2 hours before storing in an air tight container.
