Ingredients
prepared tart recipe OR graham cracker crust
purchased is fine!

egg yolks
1 14-
ounce
can sweetened condensed milk
1
teaspoon
finely shredded lime peel
1/2

lime juice

Instructions
Oven temperature to 350degrees. Note the difference if you have made the tart crust!
In a medium bowl beat the egg yolks for about 2 minutes.
Gradually whisk in the sweetened condensed milk.
Add the lime peel and lime juice.
Beat an additional 2 minutes. --the mixture will thicken up.
Pour the filling into the tart shell (or graham crust)
Bake for 15-20 minutes or until set.
Cool on counter for 1 hours.
Cover and chill in fridge for 2-3 hours.
Notes
Optionally you can add a few drops of green food coloring to the mixture to gain the traditional green coloring of Key Lime Pie.
