"Egg" Sugar Cookies

A fun and easy sugar cookie that resembles cracked eggs.

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg pre-made sugar cookie dough

Filling

  • ½ cup corn syrup
  • ¼ cups butter softened
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • yellow food coloring

Instructions

  • Follow the directions on the package to bake the cookies just until done, be careful not to overbake.
  • Combine the filling ingredients, except the food coloring, until smooth. Add powdered sugar until well mixed.
  • Remove about 1/4 - 1/2 cup of the filling and add the yellow food coloring and set aside. You want it to look the color of the center of the egg.
  • Scoop a bit of the white filling into the center of each cookie and spread it gently with a knife. Use a damp finger to gently press the frosting out to the edges. Add a dollop of the yellow filling into the center of the white and use adamp finger to shape it.
