Servings 20 meatballs

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • ¼ cup onion, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 egg beaten
  • ½ cup cream
  • ¼ cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 20 cheddar cheese curds, frozen about ¾ inch in size

  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
  • Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
  • Using your hands, mix the ingredients together just until mixed.
  • Form into 1 ½-2 inch balls.
  • Indent the center of the meatball and insert the cheese curd.
  • Close the meatball around the cheese being sure it is fully covered.
  • Place on cookie sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown (time depends on the size you choose to make your meatballs)
  • Serve immediately or freeze.

Try serving these up with a simple sauce of hot sauce, honey, and oil. Yummy!
The cheese is frozen before being put into the meatballs to ensure they don't melt out of the meatballs.
