We recently went out and about shopping on Sunday to Home Depot to gather “gardening supplies”. Of course we all had different ideas of gardening supplies. Mine involved herbs and edibles. Things to make pesto. Or soup. Or just be smelly. I love smelly. In the BEST possible way! The family had other ideas…
Katie wanted something that looked a little like this…
P.S. Home Depot’s Garden Club board on Pinterest liked that frog planter the best!! Great minds truly do think alike…bahaha!
She took home the planter. And a baby baby orchid. Seriously…it’s baby.
Levi had one thing on his mind and only one thing…strawberries. He found them. He got to take them home (thanks Home Depot for making his 10 year old dreams come true) and this is his face when he saw them…
He realized they were even in a special strawberry plant planter. Oh. My. Goodness…NO WAY!!
yes, small one…it truly is your lucky day!
Nathan doesn’t dream the dreams of 10 year olds anymore. No, he got bigger and his dreams grew along with him. String trimmers, pressure washers, and …
Sorry buddy. I’m a big ol’ giant man-dreamcrusher! But, look at the bright side you got to come home with this…
(Only because I love you guys would I EVER put a picture like that up of myself…EVAH!)
And me? Well, this whole post is meant to be about my dreams. But, I got a bit sidetracked. Sorry. Let’s get this machine umm…train back on the tracks…
I wanted an herb garden. But, April in Wisconsin is a big ol’ giant joke of a thing. We have snow on the ground still. Seriously…right?!? But no worries…I solved this little problem! I beat April!
This baby rolls around. Into the warmth, out of the cold, away from the snow, inside, outside…I control the weather. Beat that Wisconsin April!!
In the dining room…
But wait, the sliver of sun has moved! No worries…BAM! It’s in the living room!
How do you get one of these fantastic rolling herb gardens?
Here’s what you need:
Stacking Planter kit from Home Depot
Pot Caddy (also from Home Depot)
Soil and herbs (Yes, Home Depot again!)
Here’s what you do:
Paint your pots and caddy. Let dry.
Drill holes at the end of your caddy to run rope through. Run the rope through and tie on either end.
Fill your pot with soil and herbs.
Add plant markers (mine are made from ModPodge, silverware, and doodled labels)
Yes siree!! I got my wish…a herb garden that beats the nasty Wisconsin April!
