When working with a budget of minuscule proportions it can be challenging to update a bathroom. Using porcelain paint is a fabulous way of updating the space without incurring a lot of costs. Paint is the miracle “drug” of home improvements! Painting a sink, we discovered, can really make a huge update to an outdated bathroom.

Before painting this sink was in good shape but in an outdated color. Using paint was a good option because the sink was solid and in good repair but needed a refreshing.
The kind of paint you use for this type of project is a specialty paint that you can find at home improvement stores as well as online. I’ve included a quick link to the product. This particular product is from Rustoleum and is one of the better one’s we have found to use.
Okay, here’s the afters of this same vanity with the updated sink.
Yep, nothing big happening to the base. A fresh coat of paint and the charcoal color on the edges of the doors to give it some oomph. And look at that sink! It’s bright white. It’s lovely!
Did it last? It did. Prepping is most important and we can’t stress enough how much you need to follow those directions on the paint!

Does the kit come in multiple colors or just white? Need to redo my sink before the 4th lol!
Nellie says
You know, I only remember seeing white but it has been about 2 years since I did this and I wouldn’t be surprised to hear they have added additional colors.

Would this also work for a bathtub?
the Bellie says
I’m not positive. The sink has held up, but water doesn’t sit in it for long periods of time like it would in a bathtub.
Kelley says
Hi! I am thinking about doing this to my sink. How has it held up for you? Thanks!
the Bellie says
Surprisingly, it has held up just fine!

All who are posting about what paint she used. Go to the repainted tile wall page there’s a pic. Rustoleum Tub andTile. Planning on trying this as soon as I get into my house. Thanks!

Can you paint black shiny tiles???
Nellie says
Im sure you can. I would take a fine grit sandpaper to them first to give the paint a bit more to stick too.
