It is still freezing here in Minnesota. Scratch that. We wish it were freezing…as in 32 degrees. That would be a huge, huge, huge blessing! Because right about now we are lucky if we get out of the negatives. Yuck. Recognizing our extreme cold, we decided to find a whole bunch of warm soups to think about and make and put into our freezing bodies. Maybe we should add hot chocolate.
If you are someplace warm that doesn’t need soup right now, don’t tell us. We don’t want to hear about it. Leave us in our misery. You don’t need to add to it. That’s cruel.
This recipe for Gourmet Mushroom Soup is one of our favorites. We love mushrooms.
This one is our newest soup recipe. And we can’t believe we’d never heard of lasagna soup before now! It is such a better, easier option than having to go through the boiling and layering and baking involved in traditional lasagna. But…the picture won’t link you to the post…because we haven’t put it up yet. That’s right…we are evil enough to let you know what you are missing. It’s coming out next week. You’ll love it!
This recipe is incredibly old…that’s why the picture isn’t so good. But it’s a goodie. We make it all the time because it is so stinkin’ easy and good for you. And delicious. Very delicious. It also uses a lot fewer ingredients than most soup recipes, which is a very good thing in our book.
The picture doesn’t tell you what deliciousness it contains (let’s blame Nellie, shall we?). But it is Clam Chowder. Homemade. Which means it is probably good. Unless you have a seafood allergy. Then you might have a different opinion.
Never heard of Roasted Cauliflower Soup? Hm…interesting. Every cool person we know has…does that mean you aren’t cool? Okay, but seriously; it’s good. Try it. And be cool.
Does chicken broth count as a soup? You slurp it from a bowl…but you can also do that with milk. And milk doesn’t count as a soup. It is made with vegetables…but they don’t stay in it. What exactly are the requirements for soup? Deep question.
The perfect soup for the person in your family who can’t have dairy, or who just wants to be healthy. This soup is a Minnesota staple, and this particular version is incredible!!!
Another oldie but goodie, Pumpkin Curry Soup. It’s good. Trust us.
