Let’s eat only pinterest recipes for a week…shall we?

This post took me FOREVER to write.
I was on Facebook. then Pinterest. Then checked Twitter.
Then I realized I had laundry running. I had to take care of that.
This is the post that almost didn’t become a post.

Moving on in life.

If you spend any time on Pinterest you have seen a vast amount of food.
It seems that food is the thing pinned the most.
Maybe I am just hungry when I go on Pinterest and it just feels like it.
Well, even if that is the case…food is a large amount of pinned items.
So, I decided to actually make some of those pinned recipes.

But, which pinned recipes to make?

The top ones of course. So, I sought out what were the top pinned recipes on Pinterest.
And, that’s what our meals were for…one week.

One week of Pinterest recipes?

Yep. And at first it was pretty great!
But then, the butter and bacon, sugar and fat, and vast amounts of “ugh” sounds started to get to us.
But…enough about that.
For this week I’m going to share the top Pinned recipes and if they really are as good as they look.

Day 1

This meal was good…good…good!

I made lemon shrimp, armadillo potatoes, better then sex (pumpkin) cake, and corn.

The shrimp was amazing! It was easy, had few ingredients, and was…yum! I have been begged to make this again!

The armadillo potatoes were fun. They weren’t terribly hard. But, I’m not sure they were worth the extra work? But, I will make them again.

The cake was delicious and I have since made that twice more as well. It was easier then even the traditional Better then Sex cake. But, my personal opinion is that a candy other then Heath needs be on top. It needs something that goes with pumpkin a bit better. But, gosh if I know what that is?

The family consensus?

Nathan: “mmmm, what did you say?” Yep, he was too busy stuffing his face to answer. But, judging from his plate he loved everything!
Katie (the 14 year old girl): “The shrimp is yummy. The potato is cute but still tastes like a potato. The corn tastes like corn. I like the cake but it’s too sweet.”
Levi ( the 9 year old boy): “Mom, you have to make this shrimp again! Yuck…corn. Oh, a potato. I don’t like cake. Can I have ice cream?”
Me: I really did love the shrimp. The potato was yummy. The corn was yummy. And the cake was good…albeit sweet.

I would recommend trying…EVERYTHING!
For sure the shrimp!
And the cake!
And golly, the potatoes are easy…try those too!

Janel, I have had awful luck with Pinterest recipes. I tried nutella cookies (because that sounds like heaven) and they were so disgusting. I’ve tried a few others as well, all failures. Maybe Steven’s right and its not the recipe, but the cook :( lol

I know. It seems to be hit or miss. I did have some luck this week but only about 1/2 turned out okay. And with these being only the top pinned recipes of all time you would think it would be better. Nope.
So…it’s probably the recipes. I’d go with that :).

I’m gonna need you to call your brother and tell him that then, because hes convinced its the chef :( I’ve been trying to eat “clean” lately, which means a LOT of veggies, and he wont eat any of it. Hes says too much vegetables in it all. So picky!
