Sometimes a snack is just a snack. But sometimes, when you are lucky, a snack is an experience all on it’s own!! That’s what this adorable celery train is. A better version of ants on a log. A fun experience wrapped up in a healthy snack. The Bellie and I would like to pretend we made these for after-school snacks for my kids. That’s a lie. We made them during the work day. And then played with them. And ate them. By ourselves. They were just too adorable to pass up!
Ants on a log is nostalgic for us. Because of our big family, our parents were always searching for snacks that were cheap. This was one that would get whipped out all the time; and we loved it! Delicious, cheap, and super fun.
This simple snack is one to put into your back pocket for kid days, bad days, feeling healthy days, need a pick-me-up days…just about anytime something a little special is warranted. Make these little guys, say some choo-choo noises, and the world is a better place.
This snack is just ants on a log…animalified. In case you’re a weirdo and don’t know what a ants on a log is…
- Cut celery (after washing it, of course!).
- Smear peanut butter in the curved section.
- Put raisins on top. Get it? They’re ants. And they sit on a log.
Okay…now you know what ants on a log is.
So the difference here is you add animal crackers.
So you have a zoo celery train.
Same ingredients as the snack standby. Just put a lion or tiger on top. Winner!
