Quick. Take a picture!!
(that’s what I said when I saw her room was clean)
Because really…when is a 14 year old’s room EVER clean?
But…she had gotten new curtains months ago.
And wanted me to put them up.
Ha…no go. Not until the room was cleaned!
That was the blackmail MONTHS ago.
Finally, finally…the vintage teen bedroom is clean!
And so here is Katie’s room.
This is Katie…
Yes, she looks sweet and innocent and CLEAN!
But don’t be fooled. She harbored science experiments in her room.
But, it’s clean enough to show you.
It is truly one of my favorite rooms in the house.
It has so many special pieces. And personality.
Those are the curtains that were used for blackmail.
Aren’t they dramatic.
I have a point and shoot camera which works great.
But, makes it difficult to get wide shots of a room.
This is as good as it gets.
But, isn’t that room dreamy!
The chandelier is turquoise. And vintage.
The chest….from Sweden. On the boat over. Eons ago.
Vintage, vintage, everything is vintage.
My girl LOVES vintage. Sigh…that makes me happy!
This headboard had massive water damage and couldn’t be salvaged.
I almost tossed it.
This is before my blogging days…I didn’t know better.
Luckily, it crossed my mind to just paint it.
SO glad I did!!
And added the canopy over it for more drama.
A cute swinging office lamp was added (of course the shade was changed out)
My girl loves photography and especially vintage cameras!
I need to work out something over here in this corner for display.
But, for right now it’s your typical hodpodge of displayed fun.
Sitting atop my Great Grandmothers dresser.
This is the “stuff wall”.
I covered a large chunk with chalkboard paint and designated it the ONLY place for graffiti.
Added twinkle lights.
And instructions to keep all postors and such on THIS corner.
Betty Blue and Washington look might fine in this corner holding
Katie’s vintage typewriter!
Katie very much wants to go to London.
Last year she was given these maps of London as a gift.
A fun, pretty reminder of her goal!
There you have it…another room of my house!
My teen daughter’s room, no less!
That should be worth oodles, don’t you think??
If you have a teenager…do you force them to clean their room?
Do you let it be?
Or somewhere inbetween?
Don’t feel bad for Levi.
His room got redone in Jan 2013 and looks pretty darn awesome!
See it here!
