This article is OLD. The pictures are not so good…but we do think that the information and helpful tips on decorating a teen room are still relevant. So we’ve left the article here.
Those are the curtains that were used for blackmail to get the teenage girl to clean this room well enough to take photos. Aren’t they dramatic! Lovely! I have a point and shoot camera which works great, but makes it difficult to get wide shots of a room.
This is as good as it gets.
But, isn’t that room dreamy!
The chandelier is turquoise. And vintage. The chest….from Sweden. On the boat over. Eons ago. Vintage headboard.
Vintage rollerskates. Vintage suitcase. Vintage, vintage, everything is vintage. My girl LOVES vintage. Sigh…that makes me happy!
This headboard had massive water damage and couldn’t be salvaged. I almost tossed it. Luckily, it crossed my mind to just paint it. SO glad I did!! And added the canopy over it for more drama. A cute swinging office lamp was added (of course the shade was changed out)
My girl loves photography and especially vintage cameras! I need to work out something over here in this corner for display. But, for right now it’s your typical hodpodge of displayed fun. Sitting atop my Great Grandmother’s dresser.
This is the “stuff wall”. I covered a large chunk with chalkboard paint and designated it the ONLY place for graffiti.
Added twinkle lights. And instructions to keep all posters and such on THIS corner. Betty Blue and Washington look might fine in this corner holding Katie’s vintage typewriter!
Katie very much wants to go to London. Last year she was given these maps of London as a gift. A fun, pretty reminder of her goal!
There you have it…another room of my house! My teen daughter’s room, no less! That should be worth oodles, don’t you think??
If you have a teenager…do you force them to clean their room?
Do you let it be?
Or somewhere inbetween?
Don’t feel bad for Levi. His room got redone in Jan 2013 and looks pretty darn awesome!
