I have a bit of an old soul.
At least in my decorating style.
I love worn out, lived in, and abused looks.
I love brown floral wallpaper and beat-up quilts.
Rusty wagons and shop tables make my heart beat faster.
A clown knickknack, a hobnail vase, or a dirty portrait will be a great gift!
But, sometimes…sometimes…I LOVE a bit of new!
I recently went to World Market and updated my reading nook with my finds!
And they fit in so well with my old, tired goods!
I purchased a teal pillow, a slate pillow (with fab button details!),
a slate cheeseboard (for a tray), an egg holder,
tea lights for the egg holder, and a timer.
Don’t they just look lovely!!!
World Market…you rocked my world with this stuff!!
My favorite purchase at World Market was the butterfly wrapping paper.
Which I promptly put on the wall!!
A quick look at the daybed.
This was pre-blogging.
It was simply 2 pallets attached to an antique footboard.
A mattress is set atop.
I use a body pillow for the “back” and wrap the whole thing in an antique chenille bedspread.
Isn’t that the coolest!!
Okay, we need to talk a bit about my pretties.
First, you can see the butterfly paper on the wall.
Isn’t that great!
Second…that vintage clock. Sigh…it’s so sweet!
Third…the guitar is broken. No matter, it makes me look so chic!
Fourth. The lamp. It’s old. It’s vintage. It was my great grandmothers. How cool is that!
Fifth. The minnow bucket. With flowers. Seriously.
Sixth. Clowns. Because they are just strange.
Seventh. Old window. Because windows are cool. This one has teal paint. It makes it that much cooler!
There you have it.

LOVE the butterflies (if you hadn’t guessed). That whole nook is awesome. I’ve had pallets sitting in the way back part of our yard since last year. Must have a book nook!!
I saw those butterflies and did the same thing….had to have it!! I love a book nook…it’s so sweet, isn’t it! I am lucky enough to have the space too. You have pallets just sitting around?? Girl…get on that!
