Quick Craft: Kindle case from bubble mailer. The Stockholm Syndrome.

Turn a bubble mailer into a Kindle case in less then 30 minutes! Easy and great for a boy!

Well, howdy there!! How’s it going? Me? I’m good, thanks for asking. But, I’m going a bit bonkers with my boy, Levi and his new best friend named Kindle.

Bonkers, I say….bonkers!

Remember how he earned the  money to buy his own Kindle?  Gah. I would like to go back in time and undo that little business. I’d be the mean mom that says NO with a giant N and O in red letters and blinking lights.

All day long…”Mom, can I play my Kindle.”. No, no you can’t. You have things like school, and chores, and toys, and AN IMAGINATION!!
But, you know what might be worse then the Kindle??

Minecraft.

If you don’t know about this game yet…be grateful. It has the same importance in my boy’s life as One Direction does in my girl’s. It’s THAT. BIG. OF. A. DEAL.

“Mom, can I play minecrat on my Kindle?” No, no you can’t. Same reasons apply.

But, inevitably I get worn down. You know it happens. He asks me when I’m cooking, or sleeping, or bathing, or peeing. Like a radar system is built in for the best times to catch mom off-guard. I will  be strong!! This mamma is going to beat that Kindle down (and break that radar system!).

In the meantime, sigh, I made the enemy a case. I’m going for the Stockholm syndrome. Make it love me and then BAM! doing something horrid to it.

The WHAT WHAT:

*mail bubble envelope. (get the size that fits your tablet)
*duct tape (helps reinforce the edges)
*Mod Podge (to stick your decoration on)
*Cool paper, comics, posters, whatever!!

The HOW HOW:

Step 1-
Cut the flap off your envelope and then down the side about an inch. This is so you can fold the top over. If you don’t want to make a clasp, skip this part.

Step 2.
Follow the directions on the Mod Podge. I used outdoor ModPodge to help make the case more waterproof and durable for my boy. Modpodge your paper onto the envelope.

Step 3.
Use Duct Tape to reinforce the edges and flap.

Step 4.
To create this clasp I superglued a LEGO to the case; punched a hole in the flap and put a hair tie in.

Doesn’t that thing look evil. I swear it’s grinning at me. It knows it’s sucking my boy’s brain away a little at a time.
Ha!! It’s messing with the wrong momma. I. Shall. Win!
