Lesson 1…Prioritizing.
Technically this is Lesson 2. I hope you didn’t miss the one where we talked about WHY time management is important.
You think you don’t need to read this.
You do.
Everyone needs reminding.
I need it daily.
Prioritizing is the most important part of time management.
You need to get your arms around this one and not let go.
If you learn anything learn this…prioritizing is what determines WHO you are.
Whether you like or not…it’s true.
What you do with your time is the truth of who you are.
Who does your time say you are?
Before you worry about scheduling, managing, or tips…take a long hard look at your schedule.
Chances are you are doing too much.
Chances are you are doing things you don’t have to do.
Chances are you are allowing pressure from outside of you dictate what you do.
Chances are you are allowing pressure from your own ridiculous goals affect your time.
Chances are you should pay attention to your top priorities and fit those in FIRST!
Do NOT just work more or do more…STOP!
Give something up!
Get work, chores, crafts, sports, whatever it is out of those top spots and put faith and people back in!
You will NEVER regret it!
I suggest that you keep track of your time for a week or so.
Nothing hard or detailed…just a rough idea.
Then, be honest and think about where your time REALLY is spent.
Are you okay with that? Do you like the memories you are leaving with your kids?
Are you pleased with who you are?
If not…get rid of stuff! Say no.
Yes, it might be hard. But…the saying goes “nothing good is easy”… or something like that.
Quotes are not my specialty. Ha!
So…start paying attention to your time.
And let’s meet back here next week for the next lesson…finding your management style.
Here is a great worksheet from the 7minute life for helping you determine your priorities…

This couldn’t have come at a better time! With both my kids in school this year I have sworn to make the most of the few hours I have to myself. This means organizing and prioritizing my daily duties
Thanks for the PDF goodie!
PDF’s rock!!! Organizing and prioritizing is sooo hard to do! Good luck!
I will try… it’s the first week of school here so we’ll be adjusting to that. Our boy is my #1 priority, then hubby and the house and then my jobs – it’s all about balance! I say no all the time too – I wasn’t like that before but now I can say it. Thanks for the printable!
Balance is so important!! And you got me beat on the saying no…I am so bad at that!!!
